Inspired by a section of Hope ll, this rug could be mistaken for a Chinese Art Deco piece. It's part of my exploration for a new style that can take the place of a traditional Oriental rug. I manipulated the size and repetition of the elements and changed some of the colors. The gold ovals in the field create a gleaming surface. For a border, I used a typical Klimt scroll design in two levels and two colors of pure silk. This rug is a showstopper!

KLIMT COLLECTION

For many years, I wanted to do a rug collection inspired by one of my favorite artists, Gustav Klimt. I love his use of color and his wildly creative imagination. Klimt envisioned the world in a way that we have never seen before. These rugs are a translation of his work, not a copy. I hope that I have captured the essence of Klimt in these rugs.
